Changing how industrial processes are managed.
We always had an appreciation for the value that data could have to an organization. We saw data as a means for eliminating the stresses caused by the unknown and how it could identify opportunities for improvement. However, getting the data and extracting the value was a different story. Sensors were expensive. Devices and controllers were cost prohibitive. Things were hard to wire. It required special skills to program or configure. There was always something else that was needed. We didn’t have a good way to store a lot of data. We had no way to easily share the access to the data in an easy and secure manner. We had to “mine the data” to try and get the value out of it. Before you know it we lost ambition…deterred by the cost and complexities of getting everything to work.
That’s what led us to question “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” In everyday consumerism there are technologies that exist that users of all skill sets can take advantage of, but yet in the industrial world everything was so complex and expensive. So we decided to develop our own ecosystem, a complete offering that enables users of any skill set to install sensors, wire them, configure them with a cell phone, get the data remotely, set their own alarm thresholds, create dashboards and automatically send them report summaries of a wide variety of industrial applications. In addition, there is significant value in team approaches, so we wanted to be able to share the same abilities to fellow coworkers or even service providers or customers so that they could benefit as well. What once was a challenging task has now been made easy and economical. What once was available to only the largest corporations is now available to the smallest organizations.
